Basic Country Picking - Part 1
Scott Kiker

Basic strumming and bass note movement for classic American Country guitar playing. Simple ideas to get you started on "Carter Picking" - the most widely used country playing style innovated by Mother Maybelle Carter of the famous Carter Family. You'll learn how to keep a nice bass line moving while maintaining a consistent strumming rhythm, creating the impression of two guitar players coming from one performer. It's an amazingly simple technique and will provide you the basis for learning most any classic Country and Western song. The Carter family, in the 1920's, set the style that would become known as classic Country as they are referred to as "The First Family of Country Music". So, this is where it begins for Country guitar pickin', folks.
